Welcome to Coventry and Warwickshire

Coventry and Warwickshire sit at the eclectic heart of England — a region rich in culture, heritage and modern attractions. From medieval castles and historic market towns to vibrant shopping quarters and world‑famous landmarks, this is a place where history and innovation meet.

Home to the legend of Lady Godiva, the inspiring ruins of Coventry Cathedral, and the birthplace of Shakespeare, the area offers exceptional variety. With excellent transport links and just an hour from London, it’s an ideal place to live, learn and explore.

Our training scheme spans both rural and urban settings, giving you the chance to experience the full breadth of General Practice across a diverse and beautiful region.

Getting the Best Training

Our dedicated team of GPs and educators will support you throughout your training, helping you reach your full potential. As one of the largest GP training schemes in the country, we offer a highly trainee‑focused programme with teaching tailored to each stage of training.

Every training year receives its own structured educational programme, delivered by a diverse and experienced team committed to high‑quality learning.

A Community of Doctors

Coventry and Warwickshire VTS is a supportive, welcoming community. You’ll be part of an active Junior Doctors Forum and surrounded by peers and educators who are invested in your success.

Trainees contribute to all aspects of the scheme — from local representation to regional leadership roles — and many join us early through FY2 taster sessions.

Academic Training

For trainees interested in academic careers, we have strong links with Warwick University, offering opportunities to engage in research, teaching and academic development.

International Medical Graduates

We run dedicated workshops for international medical graduates who are new to UK practice. These sessions provide practical guidance, confidence‑building, and a supportive space to connect with fellow trainees.
