Welcome to the GP Vocational Training Scheme, based in Worcester and the surrounding area. The information here will tell you about the Hospital and General Practice posts that are part of our rotation and help you decide whether you want to join us. Worcester is one of the best places in England to live and work!
Worcester is an historic market town, close to larger centres yet set in beautiful countryside. It has a young population, so there is a lively social scene in pubs and clubs. There are good road and rail links to Birmingham, Oxford, Bristol, London, Manchester and Cardiff.
Right from the start, the emphasis is on General Practice as you rotate through various specialties; making you aware of the learning and experience you will need to become a GP. Most people will spend four months in a general practice in both of the ST1 and ST2 years. Throughout, there is ongoing support for MRCGP.
Teaching and preparation for all parts of this are fully integrated as part of the half-day release scheme.
